(More customer reviews)The thing about composting in your kitchen is that if you're not careful, the fruit flies move in.After trying several make-shift options at home, we decided to find a compost bucket actually designed to be a compost bucket.
These are of an adequate size, easy to clean and easy to carry.Unfortunately, they fail when it comes to the reason we picked them.The description for these items claims that they seal tightly enough to keep bugs out and smells in.This isn't true at all- fruit flies get in and out at will.I haven't kept scraps in there long enough to test for smell, but I doubt it will work any better than that if the performance so far is any indicator.
We'll be buying some sort of puffy tape to see if we can get them to seal better.If that doesnt work, its back to the sherbert buckets.
